Hot Stuff!

I gave Jaxon half my taco. He took a bite and walked away. I told him to sit back down and eat his taco. He said, as clear as day, "That taco is too spicy for me." I accidently gave him a taco with HOT salsa. Oops! It was so funny how he just walked away and then clearly explained why he could not eat it. This is why I sometimes forget he is only 2!

A name

Background information: Jaxon has been watching a lot of Toy Story.

Jax looked on the bottom of his shoe and said, "There is a name on there."

I asked whose name, and he said, "Daddy!"

Awwwww, he belongs to his daddy.

Just start writing...

I want to update this blog more often. Throughout the day, I think and plan what I will write. Sometimes, I even have some free time to do it....but then I sit in front of the computer....and I freeze. Suddenly, every cute moment doesn't seem so cute when I start to type. The words are not as sweet if you don't here Jaxon saying them. Azlyn's great personality can not be captured in words. I get stuck, and then, I walk away...
Well, tonight I'm just going to type. It doesn't matter if the moments don't read the same as they actually occured. When I read this again later, it will remind me of the moments....the real moments I don't want to forget.
I can't believe Azlyn is 8 months old. I know every mom says that...especially every mother of 2! She is so precious. She tells everyone Hi! It is hilarious. She says oohma for mama. She's just too excited to say mama. She says dadada which can be dada or Dot. You can hear the difference when she says it. Tonight, we swear she said Hi dada to her daddy.
She is such a people person - Little Miss Social! If you take her to a birthday party, a restraunt, shopping, etc. she just sits there, smiles, and says, Hi! She doesn't sleep or fuss, and she would never nurse! She might miss something! She doesn't even want her paci! And the girl loves her paci! She will nurse, paci, nurse, paci sometimes at home - she is so silly!
She had her first high fever last week. You would think a baby with a fever would be fussy, but not Azlyn. She just slept and cuddled all day. That's not really her style so you could tell she was sick. She is one busy girl normally! You can't keep her still in your arms. She reaches and squirms...yet she wants you to hold her. I remember with Jaxon I didn't wear necklaces becuase he would pull on them and break them. I like to wear necklaces with Azlyn. It keeps her more focused and still as she plays with them! She thinks her brother is amazing. She reaches out and grabs him. She says ahhhhhhhhh and he says, "What's Azy saying?" or "She likes me." They are too adorable together! When we went to the doctor, she weighed over 17lb. She still doesn't have any teeth, but she is eating cereal and other baby snacks. She's pretty good at picking up those little snacks! I think she is amazing. I can tell what a happy and strong little girl she is going to be! I love watching her grow!!
Jaxon on the other hand is a mess! I think he scared this lady in the neighborhood to death today! He was running down the pathway behind our house....away from me even though I told him to stop - typical...well, he was getting close to the end of the block where it meets the street. She was screaming at her daughter, "The street is coming! Don't let him near the street!" I'm carrying Azlyn, but finally I think I guess I better run and get him. Of course, I don't catch up in time. He turns to the left, but he is on the sidewalk....like I knew he would be. I catch up and he says, "I want to go around the block!" I drag him back to the path towards our house. I tell the lady, "Bye and sorry he scared you." He scares the --- out of other parents. I know I should be scared, too. I shouldn't trust him, but I do....he's naughty, but he knows what he's doing. I know. I shouldn't trust a 2 year old...
But the stuff that comes out of his mouth....so funny! I will attempt to share some of it even though it is not as cute to you because you can't hear him say it and he is not your boy!
Jax is holding a raw onion.
Jax: Can I lick it?
Me: I wouldn't do that if I was you, but you can.
He licks it.
Jax: Taste alright to me.
Dad turns out the light.
Jax: Dad, turn that on. I can't see that well.
Well? I think even I would have said good!
My mom was making croissants and he looked at the wrapper and said, "oh, a crescent."
Jax: The goose is coming!
We get somewhere safe like in the "dark cave" (under the covers).
Jax: Whew! That was a close one. Now we are safe and sound.
(Crazy imagination!)
He calls his toy turtle a "leather back sea turtle."
He always calls a group of people "guys" like he's from California.
"Oh, you guys!" and gives us all a big hug.
When I come home from work, he runs to me with his arms wide open, and says, "Mommy! I missed you so much!" It is so dramatic and precious! He does it daddy, too.
One day when I was leaving for work, I was hugging Azlyn bye. Jax said, "Don't worry, Baby Girl. She'll be back soon."
When we were outside, he told the little girl across the street that Azlyn was inside. She asked who Azlyn was. He said, "Azlyn is a big girl!"
He pulled an ornament off the tree, and asked what it said.
Me: Laugh
Jax: No, /h/ /g/ /u/...
He was holding the ornament backwards and saying the sounds.
He basically "reads" books by telling the story of the 3 Little Pigs - always starting with "Once upon a time..." or a variation of Brown Bear. He wanted me to read Mr. Brown Can Moo, but I asked him to read it instead. He opened it and said, "Brown cow, brown cow, what do you see? Oh, that's not right. I'm frustrated!"
One day, he was painting and I left the room. I came back and he had painted all over himself. He said, "You like it. You're happy." What? Does he think he has the force or something?
After he gets in trouble for something...such as taking all the pictures above my bed off the wall....he says, "But it's okay." Ummmm, no it's not. He just wants forgiveness.....
I can't begin to describe how much I love that boy! I love watching Azlyn grow into a little person like him! I am so blessed...

Size Matters

I have several stories that could go with this title, but I'll go with the most appropriate one for print.

Jax: I want juice, mama.

Me: Okay. (I get out a cup.)

Jax: I want the cup with dots.

(At first, I'm not sure what he means. Then, I realize he wants the bigger cup with dots. I get the bigger cup with dots.)

Me: You can have this cup, but I'm not filling it up all the way.

Jax: You're not?

Me: No.

Jax: That's too bad.

(If you haven't heard the other stories, ask me next time we talk.)

Hi!

I think "Hi" is Azlyn's first word. At first, we thought we were being silly, but now, we are pretty sure she is saying it on purpose. : )

Too sweet

Every morning, I get out of bed, and leave Azlyn, Jaxon, and their daddy in bed. Yes, we all sleep together. Don't judge us. : ) This morning, Azlyn started to cry. Before Clint could soothe her, Jaxon said, "Don't cry baby girl. I'm right here." He snuggled up to her, and of course, she stopped crying.

Halloween Fun!

Let me start by saying I don't know how to get the pictures where I want them, and I find it very annoying...

It really was our first time to go trick or treating. It didn't really count the first year and Jaxon was sick last year. It was great! Jax was very excited.

Originally, he wanted to be a super hero, but I couldn't find anything in his size. I knew I could have made him a cape, but we found an airplane that was really cool! I also thought it could be fun for all year dress up. So if I bought an airplane, why is he in a skeleton costume? We weren't sure what he should wear with his airplane costume. We decided skeleton pajamas seemed appropriate. Good thing because half way through trick or treating he took off the airplane!

At the first few houses Jaxon said, "I need some treats." By the end, he was saying, "Trick or Treat! Thank you very much! Happy Halloween!

Azlyn was a sweet, buzzy bee! She rode happily in the stroller. It will be fun when they are both running around next year!

We carved pumpkins before we went trick or treating. Jax refused to help clean it, but Azlyn liked it!

The day after Halloween we went to the doctor for flu shots. Jaxon only cried a little, and Azlyn didn't cry at all. Azlyn is 7 months and weighs 16 lb 11 oz. She is adorable....but spoiled! Jax is cute....but naughty! My kids are crazy, and I love them!!

He's a nut!

There is so much I want to say about Jaxon, but when it's time to write it down, I don't know where to start. It is hard to believe he is still 2 years old. He amazes me everyday with the crazy things he says. Sometimes I know he heard it on TV or in a book, but other times, I have no idea where this stuff comes from! He can be so sweet and calm. He wants to play game after game or read book after book. Other times, he is WILD. He runs away down the street or runs to the edge of the street and stops. He makes other parents nervous, but I just watch and shake my head. He knows exactly what he's doing. He is funny, smart, stubborn, kind, loving, stubborn...did I say stubborn twice?

I love that boy!

We got this lunch kit free at an Express game. He always wants a lunch in his lunch box so one day we had a picnic on the porch. He's easy to please.

You can't stop the kid from climbing!

He likes to help gag....uh, I mean....feed Azlyn.

He climbed up here, and said, "Oh look, a pattern, red, orange, yellow..."

A half a year already?!

Sweet Azlyn is 6 months old!

15lb 6oz

25 1/4 inches

She loves to eat and try new foods! Well, maybe not green beans.

She is starting to sit up by herself and scoot around on her belly.

She loves to be outside, and swinging is always fun!

She loves that her Dot and Pop take care of her everyday!

And she thinks her brother is a hoot!

5 months

Happy girl with a ridiculous, but cute bow!

Azlyn was doing a little tummy time so Jaxon layed down and held her hand.

The first time she ever ate cereal we taught her to feed herself. We're busy around here. : )

Azyln's sweet smile. She loves being outside.

Cuddles from brother

A little family pic before my birthday dinner

I think everytime Azlyn goes to sleep she grows, and everytime Jaxon goes to sleep, his vocabulary grows....

Azlyn is a little rolly polly....yes, she rolls all around the living room....and yes, the rolls on her thighs go on forever! She might have abs of steal though. If you lean her back in the high chair, on the bouncy seat, etc., she sits up! She doesn't want to lay down. We borrowed a jumperoo from a friend, and she loves it as much as Jaxon did. I love those things! She also loves splashing and kicking in the bath tub. She can grab her paci and put it in her mouth. Now that I am back at work, she cries if I don't pick her up right when I get home. She misses her mama. : )

Sometimes, I forget Jaxon is only 2. I can't believe the things he says and understands! He still adores his sister. He always makes sure she is happy, and loves to snuggle with her or hold her hand. He is a wild one who loves to laugh and play! I have so much fun playing with him and reading with him when I get home from work.

I am so grateful Dot and Pop are here to take care of my little ones....and Clint and me for that matter!

4 months

Do I have the sweetest children or what?

Azlyn did not even cry when she got a shot at her 4 month check-up. What a brave and tough little girl! She is 13lb and 23 3/4 inches. She is such a strong and happy baby. I love the way she laughs and kicks when I walk in the room. You can already see in her eyes how much she loves me. I am one lucky mama!

Jaxon is still a hoot. Loves his sister and says the funniest things. When we were getting in the car the other day, he said, "I need music. I need rock and roll!" When he sat down to play some pretend drums, he tapped the sticks together and said, "A one and a two and a three." You never know what he will say or do next! He picks ups everything from everywhere....so watch what you say and do around him....

3 months and counting

At Azlyn's 3 month appointment, she weighed 11 lb 8 oz. She will be double her birth weight soon. It is amazing how fast she is growing. She is still sleeping a lot in the day, but she is also a great sleeper at night. She usually goes to sleep around 9:00. She wakes up around 3:00 or 4:00 to nurse, but she goes right back to sleep. When I get up with Jaxon around 7:00, she'll nurse again. Then she'll sleep with daddy until about 8:30 and sometimes later. When she is awake, she is so playful. She loves to smile, and she makes the sweetest sounds when she talks to you. When she is nursing or sleeping in my arms, she holds my hand or onto my shirt. It is precious!

This little boy gets cuter and naughtier everyday. Usually one of us is trying to make him mind while the other one is laughing behind his back. He cracks us up! His vocabulary continues to amaze us everyday. He says the funniest things, and he is beginning to speak in complete sentences. He has been using the potty with our prompting for a few months, but this week he has been able to tell us when he needs to go potty. He even wakes up in the morning dry most of the time. We can almost call him potty trained...well, tee tee trained...that poopin' is going to take a little more practice! It is so fun watching him grow into a little boy.

This isn't the best picture of Azlyn, but I love the way Jaxon is kissing her and holding her hand. He just adores her, and he does a great job taking care of her. She is really starting to watch him and smile when he comes near her. It is cute to watch this brother/sister relationship grow.

2 months

Azlyn Elise at 2 months

10 lb 10.5 oz

22 inches

It is amazing how much she has grown and changed this month. Her smile is contagious and she makes the sweetest little sounds when she is talking to you. Azlyn is very happy and easy going just like her brother.

Jaxon loves to give Azlyn a "kiiiiss, biiiig hug"!

A brother and his sister

I have decided to keep a list of sweet moments with Jaxon and Azlyn.

- Jaxon does not like it when Azlyn cries. He says, "Get her, Mom! Get Baby Azlyn!" And it was very sweet the first time he said, "My sister is crying."

- He uses the sweetest voice when he talks to Azlyn..."Hiiiii, Baaaby Azlynnnnn."

- I catch him giving her kisses when he thinks I am not watching.

- He loves to peek at his sister when she is sleeping in her cradle. Sometimes he even rocks her....with a quick reminder to be gentle! : )

- When I am holding her, he crawls in my lap and says, "Two babies," or "I see baby Azlyn. I want her."

- Whenever we leave the house or even the room, Jaxon asks, "Is Azlyn coming?"

- He is becoming an expert at inserting the paci....when he's not playing with them himself. He is such a stinker. He knows he's not supposed to use them so he loves to tease us and play with them anyway.

- He went in for a sweet kiss on her forhead, but he lost his balance and head butted her. Oops!

- When he woke up in the night, he was crying and saying, "I see Daddy." When I carried him into our room, he whispered, "I see Azlyn. She's night, night. Baby Azlyn is night, night." It was so cute they way he was whispering!

- He loves to hold her, and then, tell me to get the camera and take their picture. I wonder where he gets that from?!

- He pushes her in the baby swing, and tell us to turn on the music. The music has always been his favorite part so he doesn't want his sister to miss out.

He is such a great big brother!

1 month old

Azlyn at 1 month

8lb 12 oz

20 1/4 inches

Jaxon now poses with his sister and tells me, "Get the camera. Take a picture!"

Azlyn Elise is 1 month old today. It has been an amazing month. I really should be a stay at home mom. I just adore being with Jaxon and Azlyn everyday. This is my first week with the kids by myself, and it has been a success! It is actually much easier than I thought it would be. We have left the house by 9:30 everyday. We only went to the park or a friend's house. I haven't actually taken them in public yet. That will be next week's adventure. Although we did go to the doctor today, and that kind of counts. The nurse asked how old Jaxon was because she couldn't believe how well he spoke. My boy is a talker! Wonder where he gets that from... He did an excellent job following directions and making good choices. That is my main concern for our adventures next week. He is 2 you know...but I am so proud of him. He is so kind and loving towards Azlyn. It is precious! Azlyn is a great sleeper - very quiet during the day, but sounds like a little goat at night. It is too funny! She is becoming more alert and starting to smile a little. She is amazingly strong. Sometimes it feels like she is going to get up and walk away! I'm so happy that I'm at home watching my sweet kids grow and change each day.

Life with 2

The day we brought Azlyn home Jaxon had a fever of 102.9. Bummer. We took him to the doctor the next morning. The doctor said he had an ear infection, a red throat, and the flu. Wow! We decided to send him to Houston with his grandparents to try and prevent him from spreading it to Azlyn. It broke our hearts to see him go. We had never spent a night away from him. When we were at the hospital, we were distracted. When we were at home, it wasn't the same without him. On a postive note, I was able to rest more and bond with Azlyn, and he had a blast with Dot, Pop, Uncle Jeff, Uncle Jamie, and Marsha.

After a few days, he was fever free and returned home. Whoohooo! Jaxon is so sweet and patient with Azlyn. He always peeks at her when she sleeps and gives her big hugs. He is never jealous when I am feeding her. It is like she has always been here.

After a few more days, his fever came back. The doctor tried him on another antibiotic, but his fever didn't go away. Next step....antibiotic shots. He got a shot in each thigh. When we returned to the doctor the next day, he wasn't very excited. He kept saying, "No doctor." I explained that this was the only way to make his ears better and after the shots, he could have a treat. He said, "Okay." He always knows exactly what the doctor is going to do. When he picked up his stethoscope, he pulled up his shirt. When he pulled out a tongue depressor, he stuck out his tongue. Jaxon is a pro! The doctor even let him use the stethoscope this time. He did start crying when they walked in with the shots, but as soon as he had that sucker, he was good to go!

Later that night, he rode with my mom to pick up dinner. While in the car, he asked, "We go to the doctor?" My mom said, "No", and he said, "I get treat. I go to the doctor!" I guess the shots are worth it if you get a sucker!

When we were at the doctor, we showed him a small rash Jaxon was getting. He said it was hives and we should give him Benadryl. Well, the next day it was much worse. I'm not sure it is hives anymore. Dr. Shelby thinks it might be roseola. Who needs medical school when you have google, right? Either way his fever is gone, and he should be better soon.

While Azlyn was at the doctor, we learned that she had gained 10.5 oz in a week! I was a little worried because she doesn't nurse very long. Apparently, she is getting plenty!

March 28 - 6 lb 1 oz
March 31 - 5 lb 15 oz
Arpil 7 - 6 lb 9.5 oz

I used to think it was silly when people said their baby had their days and nights confused.....not so silly anymore. She seemed to be sleeping for almost 3 hours in the day, but she was waking up every hour most of the night. Oh well, I knew it wouldn't last forever and atleast I could watch some late night TV....that wasn't Nick Jr! The last few nights have been better. She has been sleeping in much bigger chunks at night....of course she is laying next to me downstairs on the couch, but whatever works, right? : )

April 7 umbilical cord fell off
April 8 first bath

I can't say she loved the bath, but it wasn't as bad as I expected. The only time she cries is when you change her diaper or her clothes. She doesn't even cry that much during diaper changes anymore now that I made my own wipes.

All in all life with 2 has been great. Of course my mom being here makes a huge difference. I am so thankful she is able to be here and help us! I feel so blessed and happy. I adore my new little family.

Am I seeing double?

Azlyn

Jaxon

Crazy, huh?

And then there was 4...

The newest member of the Shelby family arrived on March 28, 2011 at 2:59 am. Azlyn Elise weighed 6 lb 1 oz and was 19.5 inches. Her grandparents were there to hold her as soon as mommy and daddy would let them. Her big brother was delighted to meet her later that day. He hugged her, kissed her, pointed to her nose, eyes, and ears, and then, counted her toes. She recieved his seal of approval. Jaxon is going to make a wonderful big brother! We are so blessed and in love with our new, little family!

A New Stage

Jaxon has entered a new stage of play - pretend play! It is adorable. First, he layed all his dinosaurs down to go night, night. When they woke up, he gathered them around the bowl and put a piece of cereal in it. Then, they all went to sit in the rocking chair. It is very sweet to watch...

He knows her name

Today was the first day Jaxon said, "Baby Azlyn" on his own. He has been repeating her name when we say it. He also pats my belly and says baby. But today I was opening the clothes that Nannie mailed him. As I took the clothes out of the package, he said, "Baby Azlyn's?" (What does that tell you? Do you think we have enough baby girl clothes?) This time though, I was able to say, "No, these are for Big Boy Jaxon!" One of the shirts has an elephant on it. He always calls elephants "Boom Booms". That is the sound they make when they walk of course. But today he said, "Elephant!" when he saw it.

On another note, he wanted to sit on the potty 3 times today. The first two times he got a few drops in there, but the 3rd try can be described as a puddle! I am so proud of him! We aren't really pushing him to use the potty. We are just offering it to him when we change his diaper and other random times. We celebrate everytime he sits on the potty, and do the potty dance when he goes! I am impressed with my little boy! : )

The silly games we play...

- Jaxon says, "I play my trumpet." It is a plastic watering can of course!

- He gave me 3 little balls and said, "Juggle, Mom! Juggle, juggle!"

- He starts fake crying, and I join in. Then, he says, "Big hug!" We hug, and he says, "Are you okay?" I say, "I'm okay. Are you okay?" He says, "uh, huuuuh." Then, we do it all over again...

- Fake sneezing is fun, too!

- Daddy Dinosaur is the best one. Daddy acts like a dinosaur. He hides and attacks while Jaxon runs away with the biggest smile on his face. He screams, "Oh no, Daddy Dinosaur!" and tries to hide behind me, but Daddy Dinosaur catches him and tickles. Jaxon laughs, and says, "That kickles!" When daddy stops, he of course says, "More Daddy Dinosaur!"

- Sometimes we play the same game with Monster Dot, too.

oh, how we love to be silly!

Thursday, February 24, 2011

and he continues...

He continues to crack us up with the funny and sweet, little things he says...

- He climbed on the ottoman and said, "I'm a tall giraffe!"

- While swimming and splashing in the hot tub...okay, warm tub...he kept saying, "I'm in the hot tub!" This is definitely one you need to hear him say. Reading it just isn't the same.

- The way he says "come" is adorable! "Here he comes." or "I'm coming!"

- He loves to pretend he is stuck places. He says, "Help! I'm stuuuuck!"

- When things are hard, he now says, "I can't do it." It sounds like he is immitating something he has heard, but I'm not sure where he got it. It's kind of cute.

Everyday, he says new things and amazes us with what he has learned.

Sunday, February 13, 2011

He keeps growing up...

Today, Jaxon was drawing and made some up and down scribbles. He said, "M - mmmm." Then, he flipped the paper over and said, "Double." (That is how he says W.)

And he pee peed in the potty twice....he pooped last week....I think the potty training has begun!

His birthday party was this weekend. We had a great time with family and friends. We are so blessed....

He will officially be 2 on Thursday! As we all say....time flies! But it has definitely been a good time! : )

Monday, February 7, 2011

oh, so sweet

Jaxon woke up crying in the middle of the night. I went in his room to check on him. He said, "Mom! My tummy hurts. Kiss it!"

While reading Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed, he kissed and hugged every monkey that fell off the bed.

He says, "Thank you!" for everything, and it is so genuine.

When ever he is falling or slipping in the bathtub, I grab him and say, "I've got you." Now he does it, too. He grabs me and says, "I got you."

When we lay together, he wiggles his arm under my neck so that I'm laying on his chest. He is the one who cuddles me.

He is the sweetest and most loving little boy....when he's not being a turkey, of course!

I adore him....

Saturday, January 29, 2011

oh, how he makes us laugh!

Jaxon is always saying things to make us laugh. Of course, when I write these phrases, they won't sound as funny. His sweet little voice is what makes it so cute!

- He loves to call things big such as....when he gives you a hug, he says "a hug, a biiiiig hug!" or a kiss "a kiss, a biiiiig kiss!" When we drive to school, there are many trucks so he says, "a truck, a biiiiig truck!" Yesterday, he hugged my stomach and said, "Big Belly!" Sometimes he even says, "a biiiiig, toot!" : )

- When he eats something new, he says, "I tried it. It's good!"

- He was eating pretzels. He pulled one out of the cup and said, "R, rrrrrr". And yes, it actually looked kind of like an R!

- One of his favorite books right now is "Polar Bear, Polar Bear". The way he says polar bear, z00 keeper, and the other animal names sounds so stinkin' cute!

- Poor kid has a bad rash on his bottom, but it is adorable the way he says, "it hurts, it burns, or that's better."

- He sounds German when he says H words like "It's hhhot! I blow it!"

- He has always said daddy's name so sweet. Mama always sounded so demanding. Now he says mom more often such as "Do it, mom." And maybe that doesn't sound so cute, but when you hear him, it is!

- Whenever he is done eating, he has always said, "all done." Now he says it when he is done sleeping. "All done! All done!" and he means it! Once you hear those words, you know you won't be able to get him back to sleep. At least he makes you smile when he wakes you up between 4:45 and 5:15!

I love that kid!

November and December, where did you go?

These last few months have gone by so fast, but they have been good! I always want to update this blog, but I always put it off....the pictures aren't ready, I don't have time to add everything I want, yadayadayada...no more excuses. I'm just going to chat about my growing boy and add pictures another time.

He is growing and changing so much. He amazes us more and more everyday!

- He loves to climb everything. You better be ready when you hear him say, "Jump, Mom!" He is fearless. He was climbing the railings at Best Buy and kind of fell on his face. He said, "I got it." like he was trying to play it off. He's already working on the I meant to do that excuse. (My legs are up on the ottoman right now, and he climbing over them as I type!)

- He loves to read, and he loves animals! He can name every animal in every book. It is crazy! Well, I guess he doesn't know fox. When I called it a fox, he said, "No, wolf." : )

- Ever since Halloween and the scary wolf came to our door, he always tells you when he is scared. It is so funny when he says, "It's scary" or "I'm scared". I should feel sorry for him, but it is just too cute.

- We took him to the Waco Zoo. It is a fantastic zoo for a toddler! He loved looking at all the animals. When he saw the wolf, he said, "It's scary." He doesn't forget anything!

- Speaking of not forgetting....when Uncle Jamie and Marsha came to visit him in June, they brought him a tunnel from Ikea. When they came back in November, he ran straight to the tunnel. How can he remember they gave him that tunnel 5 months ago?!

- He loves to paint, color, draw, cut....create! Uncle Jeff gave him play-doh for Christmas, and he spent over 45 minutes in the high chair playing with it.

- He also loves to watch Nick Jr.....maybe a little too much....but it's hard to say no when a pregnant mama needs to rest! We took him to see Yo Gabba Gabba Live, and for his birthday we are going to see Sesame Street Live. Good times!

- He is so sweet to his baby sister. When I ask him where his baby sister is, he lifts up my shirt, puts his head on my tummy, then gives it a kiss....and sometimes a zurbert! We asked him what his sister's name was, and he said, "Baby!" It was sweet.

- He is at the age where he likes to say no and run from you, but it is actually kind of cute. He thinks he is so funny......but it's not real fun in public. We stay home a little more often now. : )

- He has been talking up a storm. He says everything and anything. He has been saying phrases for a while, but this last week his language has really taken off! He says short sentences for everything now. It is amazing, and I love it!

- Uncle Jamie got him a little 4 wheeler for Christmas. He is an expert at pushing on the gas, but not so much when it comes to steering! He runs into everything, and it is hilarious!

- When I said he likes to climb, did I mention he likes to go head first off the bed and couch, too? Right now he is sliding off the couch head first. When he kind of crashes, he gets up and says, "oh, my head....my knees...." Crazy kid!

- Ever since we went on a train ride with Kallie in November, he loves to line up his toys, and say, "Choo, Choo". He got some trains for Christmas!

- He still loves to eat everything. Of course, he likes ice cream, Kit Kats, etc. but I think he scarfs vegetables down the fastest! He is also a big fan of the ketchup. We looked over last night, and he was eating all his ketchup in one big spoonful. Gross!

Okay, I think that is enough Jax talk for now. I'm sure I will have more to say, when I add pictures....eventually.....
