Kiddie Acres

Today, we had a terrific time with my friend, Rebecca, and her two beautiful children! We went to a place that is like a miniature carnival. Jaxon was not wild about the little ride at the outlet mall a few weeks ago so I was not sure if he would like these rides or not. Turns out he was a fan of some and not so much of some others.

He thought the train ride and the ferris wheel were great! I realize he does not look that excited in the pictures, but he was having fun!

He loved splashing in the water, but he did not want to ride in the boat.
He was very excited to see the horses on the merry-go-round. He liked petting them and making horse noises, but he did not want ride one!
I think maybe he feels safer sitting on a bench. Height and speed may not be a factor after all. After Kiddie Acres, we went to Red Robin. Yum! We are looking forward to more summer adventures with Sydney and Jack!

All About Jaxon

So I haven't figured out how to work this thing yet. I was planning to show pictures of all of our summer adventures so far, but I can't figure out how to get the pictures where I want them. Instead, I just added one that shows Jaxon's true personality and then, decided I will just list all the things I love about him. I could talk about him nonstop. I try to limit my Jaxon talk a little so I don't completely annoy the people around me, but that is exactly what this blog is for. If you're getting annoyed, just stop reading.
I love the way Jaxon...

- giggles. It is contagious. He has a deep, belly laugh when you tickle him, make funny faces, pretend your dropping him, plays with the dogs....

- gives kisses with a smoochie sound effect. He kisses everyone - mama, daddy, friends, the pets, characters in books, mirrors, strangers at the park....

- brings you book after book all day long.

- repeats some of the words with you in books.

- sits by himself and pretends to read.

- yells his dad's name from the other room just to say hi!

- blows bubbles in any water - bathtub, pool, water table, puddle on the sidewalk...

- claps when he hears people clapping on TV. We watch a lot of game shows around here!

- turns on his own music and turns off the light when it is time for bed. Then, he frantically begins pointing at books, the rocking chair, or the door - anything to keep you from putting him in the crib, but then, he usually falls right to sleep without a tear .....no later than 7:00.

- plays fetch and tug with Blue.

- splashes water on Blue and Harley when we are outside, and then laughs and laughs.

- yells Blue's name whenever he starts to bark. He copies everything you do so be careful!

- loves shoes. He'll bring you random shoes to put on him or he tries to wear yours.
- picks up a bag and walks to the door waving bye!

- talks. I think he says a new word everyday!

- can find a ball anywhere! He points to them in books, magazines, on the TV, at the grocery store, in the produce section, out the window - everywhere, all day long! It's great!

- loves to be outside - in the pool, at the park, on the porch, on a walk in the stoller or on his bike...he always points to the window, says "out", and tries to turn the door knob!

- finds random things like lint, cherrios, sunflower seeds, etc. on the floor and brings them to you. He knows he shouldn't have them.

- sits nicely in my lap at storytime while most of the other kids wonder around playing. He does not get up until she brings out the toys!

- dances when he hears music and recognizes his favorite songs.

- remembers and imitates everything!

- likes to play with the mop and broom. I am hoping this one sticks!
- says "three" when he wants you to do something again. This is because when I count to 3 fun things happen on 3.

- perseveres. Even if he falls or gets hurt, he gets up and tries it again.

- has an adorable, devilish smile when he is doing something naughty.
- plays peekaboo.

- will eat anything!

- is learning how to eat with a spoon, and he is doing a great job!

- says "ahhhh" after he takes a big drink.

- loves to meet new people. He especially gets excited when he sees other kids - any age.

Okay, I could go on and on.....and I probably will again real soon....

Trying Something New...

So I have decided to start a blog...I'm not exactly sure what I'm getting myself into...I'm not the best writer, but I do have a great subject to write about! I used to think I would remember everything Jaxon did and when he did it, but I can already tell that is not the case. Everyday is something new and wonderful so I know I am not remembering the past as well as I would like. So here is a way I can remember and share stories about a very special boy in my life!
